About Puma

Adoption Fee: $180
Flat-Coated Retriever / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Puma Puma is an amazing young dog who was rescued just in the nick of time from a high kill shelter. We're so glad we were able to bring Puma to the safety of our shelter. He arrived on July 31, 2019. We are having so much fun getting to know this wonderful boy. Puma is about six months old. We think he's a shepherd/flat coat retriever mix. Right now he's all legs and paws and weighs about 40 pounds. He has a lean build, a glossy black coat and a beautiful face highlighted by checks brushed with brindle coloring. His ears are expressive and he uses them to his great advantage to get you to notice him%BD'%BD|as if you wouldn't. Lol! Puma is as sweet as they come. He loves everyone and every dog he meets. We're not yet sure about cats, but will test him for any potential adopters. He has a confident, even- tempered personality. He's an energetic and curious young dog. He wants to know everything about whatever he sees and is not afraid to check things out. Puma is super smart. He already knows a couple of commands. He is learning to walk like a gentleman on a leash, but his energy and eagerness still get the best of him. We're certain he'll learn in no time. There's a good chance given how we got him, he was on his own and leashes didn't matter. He listens though and aims to please. Having a couple of treats in your pocket sure doesn't hurt either. Puma will make for an excellent hiking companion given his energy, athleticism and enthusiasm for adventure. Puma rides well in a car and loves being out and about. He is a happy-go-lucky boy who's grateful to be alive. Puma will be neutered, fully vetted and microchipped before going home. If you're looking to welcome an active, young, super smart and sweet-as-can-be young dog to your family, come meet Puma. You'll be so glad you did. This boy is special!
