About Henry

Henry is a gorgeous Catahoula Leopard dog mix. How he found himself at Animal Control before we rescued him is anyone's guess, but we're glad we could get him into our shelter. Henry arrived on August 3, 2019. He is one heck of a good dog. He is absolutely gorgeous with the distinctive Catahoula markings. He has a handsome face and his nose sports the cutest of freckles. His eyes practically twinkle at you in the hopes that you might be coming to make him part of your family. We think Henry is a little over two years old. He's a tall, sleekly built dog weighing about 62 pounds. The kennel environment is getting to him and he loves nothing better than to be out of his kennel. He's energetic and would do best as part of an active family. He loves walking and exploring. He's affectionate and loves attention. He would make for a fantastic hiking or running buddy. He loves people and seems to get along well with most other dogs. He walks well on a leash, but is strong. Volunteers have been working with him. He has a sweet disposition and aims to please. We have not yet tested him with cats, but will do so for any potential adopters. Henry is neutered, fully vetted and microchipped. If you are wanting to welcome a unique and extremely awesome dog to your family, come meet Henry. Dogs like him don't come around too often. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
