Say Hello to Charlie! Pit Mix - Approx 45lbs, 2yrs old Brown with white - very handsome boy. He's sweet, very unsure, scared of the world around him, and also shy. Sensitive to loud noises, retreating to a safe space. Although he's very curious of the world and people, he's scared, and apprehensive of new places and people, and likes to warm up to them slowly on his own. Once he trusts you, he'll crave your attention from time to time with a stare, bark or yelp. Loves to cuddle up against you. You may find he's made his way into your bed in the middle of the night - so expect the morning cuddle and snuggle. Loves and trusts other dogs over people. Very playful with other dogs, a little indifferent to cats. Housebroken.. Loves car rides and will beat you to the front door to get out and into his seat. He'll sit to be leashed, does well on a leash, and should be walked on a leash - if let off, he'll run off expecting you to play chase - he's fast. Charlie definitely needs regular play / exercise. Charlie is a medium sized dog, but he's not very unaware of his size and is sometimes a little awkward when when he wants to play or get close. . . . He just may sit on you when trying to sit next to you. As a friend put it, Charlie doesn't know how to 'dog.' Which is why he needs a home with other active, playful dog(s), a contained yard to run and play, and a patient owner who'll take their time with him as he opens up more and learns to socialize more. He's never been around small children, but he may not be a good fit for a home with small children, due to his strength. Heartworm-free, UTD on shots.
