About Ivory

Ivory is available for adoption or foster. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families. Ivory is currently fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). Ivory is a snow white, precocious terrier mix of about 2 years of age. She is very cuddly and loving, loves her toys, loves to swim. She can be dominant at times like all terriers, and she should go to a home where folks have had terriers before and know of their ways. Ivory currently lives in a home with 14 others, she gets along with everyone, loves to play chase, loves her toys and likes to claim those toys, hah! She is not very effective at establishing dominance although she thinks she is. She is crate trained house broken and has been an angel in the house. She is very submissive with people, and does respect another dogs space. She doesn't like other pushy dogs in her face, but is a dream with kind, confident, non-pushy dogs of any breed. If you are looking for a companion to snuggle with, play disc, agility or dock diving - she has shown promise in those areas. Or she would be happy just to be with her own family and go hiking, kayaking or even be a running partner. There is a lot of dog in this 18 pounder, she is really not a lap dog. She will require a fenced yard, and another kind companion is fine if they are not dominant and pushy. Manners class would be perfect, her leash skills are tolerable. She rides well in the car. Ivory is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm-free. We are a foster-based rescue organization with foster homes throughout the state of Florida. We predominantly save dogs from municipal shelters throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our rescue dogs live in foster homes - there is no central facility.
