About Delainey19

Delainey is a sweetheart, with a slight independent streak. A beautiful Calico, she has lots of energy and loves to play - with her brother, with her person or all by herself. Probably her very favorite thing to play with is the feather wand because it allows her and her brother to spend quality time playing together with their person. She's very agile and makes some daring jumps to catch the feathers, but she's all about catch and release so she can continue the chase and she's happy to play the game until her person is exhausted. She also loves nylon tunnels with fringe on one end and anywhere she can hide to pounce on unsuspecting prey - meaning her brother or her person when they pass by, or even on a toy that's just been lying on the floor waiting for her, no stealth required. Favorite hiding spots are behind furniture and inside cardboard boxes. Delainey starts purring the moment her person is near and she loves cuddles, but generally not long ones. She'd much rather be doing something and if she's spending time with you, that means grooming your hair, washing your fingers or batting at any loose thread on your clothing. She is also especially fond of helping her person with her work, and opening a laptop computer is like her siren song. She must sit on it! She is especially adept at switching it into airplane mode and turning on the keyboard lights, and she has been learning to type short messages into emails going to her person's friends. As all kittens do, Delainey loves to scratch and climb, and while much of this is directed at cat trees and other appropriate surfaces, she is learning to stop when she hears the word 'No' if scratching somewhere she shouldn't - and if that doesn't get her attention, a squirt or two from a water bottle will do the trick. She's not recently been exposed to children, dogs or cats other than her brother, but she doesn't seem to be fearful of anything, so I feel she would adjust well to anyone she was introduced to with a reasonable degree of caution.
