About Olive

Meet Olive!! If you are looking for an adventurous little soul with cuddles and a heart of gold who has the most then Olive is your gal!! Olive is a 7 week old mix of Yorkie, Chihuahua and possibly some type of Spaniel. Her tri color coat is shiny and soft and may get thicker as she gets older. We don't expect her to be more than 8-10 pounds. She came from a home in a town called Earlimart which is in the Central Valley area of California. Her Mom was a Chihuahua Spaniel mix that we did get to see but did not see the Dad, who is a full blooded Yorkie as he was the neighbor's dog. Mom got out and not being spayed at the time, met up with the neighbor's dog and the rest you can figure out from there. Mom is now currently being spayed. All of the puppies were given away except for Olive and Taffy( Taffy is also listed) so we took them into rescue. They were both loaded with ticks (25 each) as they were only outside from the day they were born. Olive is shy for about a second but then her natural curiosity takes over and she wants to be a part of everything! She is in foster care with 3 other dogs (one is a Boxer, the other a pitbull and the other a small terrier) as well as a cat and children so she is being socialized at an early age. She is still underage but will be available for adoption in about a week Her adoption fee includes: her spay (per the terms of our adoption agreement), current vaccinations, deworming (twice), microchip, starter food and healthy puppy pack, harness, leash and bed. An adoption fee does apply. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make phone calls nor do we accept them in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. Some notes to consider before applying for Olive: 1. Olive is part Yorkie and may require ongoing groomings every 6 weeks. 2. Olive is just a puppy and puppies are alot of work. Please make sure that everyone is on board with taking on the responsibility of a puppy to have the best canine citizen. 3. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 4. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place.
