About Davey

Meet Davey, a 6 pound, sweet Chihuahua mix! Davey is approximately 5-6 years old. He came to us as an owner surrender. Davey was shy at first but has settled in very quickly. He is friendly and affectionate and loves to be next to you while chilling out. He will sleep with you or is good in a crate at night. We have found out that he doesn't like thunder and will want to be next to you hidden under a blanket during a storm. He is housebroken. His foster mom has a fenced yard and we haven't tried him with a leash and harness yet, but she will soon and update us on that. Davey would get along with another low-key dog but does not like to share his blanket! When he sleeps in bed he tends to want go under just the top cover and chill in his own space all night. He loves bedtime and is quite the sleepy head so he likes to sleep in if he can get away with it! He is good with the foster's dogs with no issues. He has not been kid or cat tested. Davey is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He will be scheduled for a dental soon and that is covered by the rescue, as long as it is done by our vet. He did test light positive for heartworms and is already on treatment to manage that. All that is needed is a specific monthly preventative that you would give to any dog. The adopter must agree to continue treatment and the rescue will continue to pay for testing every six months until he tests negative.
