*** Adoption Fee * Birds are NOT FREE *** Romeo is a special bird and will make a great addition to someones family. She is very friendly and likes to be part of what is going on. She is still trying to talk after almost 18 yrs and I think that may have to do with her blown air sac but that has not affected her health. I hear a 'Hi' or 'Hello' every once in awhile! She just blows up the air chamber to make herself look big and bad then releases the air back down to look normal! She has a beak that needs to keep trimmed down on the lower right side due to over growth but shes healthy eats well eating fresh fruits, veggies, nuts her staple is Hagen Tropican high and Maintenance Pellets. She is full flighted but does not fly, She will however crawl down off her cage and walk around to get where she wants to go! Her new home will be with a NonSmoker and someone who can provide her an indoor/outdoor setting as she has thrived in the sunshine and fresh air! Macaws can live 85-100 years with proper care and nutrition! Please be prepared to take on this kind of commitment! NO CAGES ARE INCLUDED! All birds are used to living outside in SWFL tropical weather all their lives so please take that into consideration when looking to adopt. Cold weather states would be an big shock to their system and extreme caution would have to be taken. All birds will remain here at my Rescue in SWFL until I can find the right lifetime home for them. Due to the circumstances here at my home and Sanctuary after Hurricane Irma I am having to find homes for all birds. If you are out of the area or state and are willing to pu or pay for all shipping costs and vet exams for flight, I will consider an Adoption to the right home. My home and property will be under construction for at least 8 mos to a year due to extent of total damage. All birds have been surgically sexed and I do have blood on each bird that can be sent in for disease testing if you choose to do that thru Avian Biotech. Animals choose their owners NOT the other way around. Please do NOT choose to bring an Animal into your home based on looks or color! They each have individual personalities, quirks, likes and dislikes just like humans do!! PLEASE make sure to include PROPER contact info. Explain what your experience is WHY you would make a good lifetime home and why you are interested in adopting a parrot.
