About Remy

Adoption Fee: $50
American Bulldog
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

I rescued Remy in Riverside, CA from my Uncle's neighbor. He has been neglected and kept outside practically his entire life. The heat and the flies in Riverside tore this poor doggo up, he was in pretty bad shape. I took him in because he simply wasn't being treated right. Remy is a really mellow and sweet boy and all he wants/needs is love. I am a full-time working college student and am unable to keep him. Please help me find a good home for Remy boy! Remy was bloated and overweight when I first picked him up; since then he's slimmed down quite a bit just from daily walks, tug with the other dogs, and playing in the creek and now has some nice curves! Before I rescued him he had a gash in his head and received antibiotics for that from the vet. The top of his tail has a tumor, confirmed as benign by the vet and potentially will go away as he loses weight (it may just be fatty). He also had numerous bug bites all over, red skin, and his tail was badly eaten up by the crazy amount of flies in Riverside. HOWEVER, since rescuing his head is healed up, his bug bites are gone, his skin is no longer red, and his tail is just about healed up. Yay! Remy is a purebred American Bulldog (I have all his papers)! He's 6.5 years old. He is a very sweet boy! He knows sit, stay, and down. He seems to be quite clumsy which will definitely give you a good laugh. He has large paws and walks in a floppy way, it's very cute. He's very calm, not a spaz or a hyper dog. Most of the time you will find him laying at your feet or in the vicinity. If he's not laying he's probably wandering around. He likes long walks at a slow pace, or he'll walk at a normal pace with other dogs. He does really well on a leash, no pulling. He is crate trained; he prefers to sleep in his crate at night with the door open or closed (I keep it open and with a pillow). Other than the occasional couch nibble if you're not paying attention (just within a few weeks he's become much less interested in the couchp--I think it was a nervous thing), he does great inside. He's really receptive to training and adapting to indoors very well. He doesn't get on furniture (big plus!). His crate is brand new, it's a XXL folding crate that I bought so he could be extra comfy since his previous owner had one too small for him. I bought a bed that fits perfectly and he gets a clean pillow, too! He gets along with everyone and all dogs! His ears perk up at the sight of a cat on walks but again he doesn't pull while on leash so he doesn't take off or anything. He does need a secured yard because he will take himself on a walk if given the opportunity. All his bites, cuts, and wounds he had when I rescued him are healing up very nicely and he is getting quite handsome. The picture posted is current! Remy is licensed, microchipped, and has been kept up-to-date on his vaccines. Remy comes with a brand new crate and bed, several bags of dog food, a new collar and leash, all his papers of course, poop bags, new food and water bowl, training treats, a brush, and toys! He's a sweet boy who just wants your love.
