It's the sad story that there are too many dogs without homes or help. Overrun kill shelters are begging the 'no kill' shelters like ours to help and luckily we've been there to rescue dogs, like Scooby. Scooby comes from a high kill shelter with limited resources and we got him just in time. He arrived on July 31, 2019. And, boy is he all that! Scooby is a sweet terrier mix with the cutest of ears that seem to have a mind of their own. He's thought to be about 1.5 years old and weighs 37 pounds. He has a beautiful caramel colored coat and earnest eyes that draw you in. He's a happy go lucky pup with a joyful personality, greeting every visitor with a wag of his tail. He loves attention and has been so grateful just knowing he's safe with us until we can find him a loving forever home. He'll smother you with kisses and loves being petted. Scooby seems indifferent to cats and we bet given his easy going personality that he does well with dogs, but we'll test him for potential adopters. Scooby will be neutered, microchipped and fully vetted before going home. If you've been looking for a terrific young dog to take hiking or be your forever best friend, come meet our Scooby. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
