About Ruger (west)

Hi, my name is RUGER - ID#A4286999. I am a male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier, and I weigh about 63 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jul 11, 2019. Ruger was scared and wouldn't come out of kennel at first, but he is making great progress. He likes a reward when he comes out of kennel. He doesn't like the leash - it freaks him out. We are working on that; it will just take a little time. He is very fearful and nervous, but when he is with a handler, he calms down. He does get overwhelmed with obnoxious and pushy dogs, so we recommend he be the only dog in the house. Ruger will need a quiet, compassionate and patient home to help him come out of his shell. Ruger has been at the shelter well over a month, and if he is not adopted soon, he will probably go on the euthanasia list. Please consider this sweet, quiet boy for your next furry family member.
