About Tippy

Location: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $50/for the pair Age: 11 Breed: Lab/Border Collie/Mutt mix Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped **Bonded to Freckles - Tippy & Freckles MUST be adopted together Over the past few months you may have seen postings on Facebook and fliers all over town where our community was trying to help find a home for Tippy and Freckles. They were adopted as young puppies (from the same mom so we know they are siblings) and lived with their humans all these years; deeply loved! Sadly a few years ago their human mom passed away; their dad was depressed but made sure that his Tippy & Freckles were cared for and loved even more. Then disaster struck and their dad took a tumble and injured himself pretty badly - he was rushed to the hospital and unfortunately passed away. During his final days the only thing he cared about was that someone take care of his dogs and love them like he did. Fuzzy Pawz heard about Tippy & Freckles from a neighbor who was caring for them and stepped up to place them in foster home and are dedicated to finding them the best retirement home ever! Tippy is a sweet chubby love who moves a little slower than Freckles due to an old injury on her right back foot. Tippy likes to bark at the neighbor dog through the fence, but when she is with other dogs her size she is curious and calm. She will need a continued diet and gentle walks on a daily basis. She loves belly scratches and affection of all sorts from her person. She would do best in a home where someone is around a lot. Freckles is great with people and smaller dogs, as his foster house has two Chihuahuas, but is scared of dogs his own size. Around bigger dogs Freckles will either try to hide in his foster mom's legs or show aggression toward the dog. We'd prefer he didn't go to a home with cats or with kids under 12. Tippy and Freckles are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. It's so sweet to watch them care for each other at bed time by cleaning each other and playing just a little while they lay next to each other. When they are separated each dog has anxiety and whines for the other. The comfort they bring to each other is heartwarming to witness. Both dogs are house trained, good on leash and have great house manners - they can be couch potatoes and are not high energy. Tippy is great with other dogs, however Freckles is terrified of bigger dogs (he is great with small dogs). We'd prefer the go to a home with no cats and with no kids under 12.
