About Scooter

Name: Scooter Age: 1yo Breed: Shepherd mix Sex: Male Adoption Fee: $300 Location: Oklahoma City, OK This sweet boy is Scooter! He's an approximately one year old shepherd mix. He had been surrendered to a local shelter with his 4 siblings, their history before that is unknown. Scooter is already adoption ready as he is neutered & up to date on medical. He's a very sweet, loving pup who loves to cuddle. He is young & does chew, therefore his current caretaker has to have him outside. Scooter needs a new foster or an adopter as his owner-surrender foster is about to have a new baby in the home & won't have as much time to give him the attention he needs. He's good with small dogs & kids, but Scooter has some fear aggression with dogs bigger than him. Therefore, he needs a home without dogs his size or smaller. He has not been around cats, so how he is around them is unknown. Since his transition outside Scooter has a lot of energy that he needs to burn off. He is very gentle with young kids, but while playing outside he can easily knock them down. He loves to play chase & will go after almost anything that you throw for him, as well as chew on anything he can get ahold of. Therefore, he'll need lots of bones & chewtoys in his foster or forever home. Scooter doesn't have his own crate, but he was fine when he was at our event. He used to be an inside dog & recently transferred outside, but he is house trained. He doesn't usually bark unless he's playing or there's a stranger getting too close to his yard. Scooter has never shown aggression towards anyone, including when he's meeting new people. He's very shy at first but warms up pretty fast & loves to be loved on. His temporary foster mom had a small puppy for about a week & they shared food/water bowls just fine. Scooter has never bitten anyone out of aggression, but he will try to nibble while playing. He's still learning commands- sometimes he'll listen, but he normally comes immediately when called. Foster or Foster-to-adopt homes must be located in the state of Oklahoma or within 3 hours of Oklahoma City, adoptions available nationwide! She will need to complete shots and be spayed.
