About Jackson

Adoption Fee: $50
Poodle
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Meet Jackson! Jackson is a 12 year old toy poodle who weighs 12 pounds. He is house trained and really mellow. He absolutely loves to lounge around the house on any couch, lap, or bed he can. He loves to be in the same room with his people-- he doesn't like to be left alone and will bark a bit if he doesn't know where you are. He would be a sweet companion for someone who is home a lot. Here is a concert he recently gave for his foster home when humans weren't getting going with bedtime fast enough: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2SW_xNpe8A/ He also loves car rides to Dunkin Donuts: https://www.instagram.com/p/B03gNAaJBNv/ Jackson gets so excited when his people get home, and will do his best to jump onto you to give loves, but he's pretty clumsy about it. It's really cute. Jackson has a few physical limitations. He also doesn't do big sets of stairs well and needs to be carried to a second story. He can do small sets of stairs, such as porch steps, quite easily though. He does have a grade 3 heart murmur as well. He's been going for water-treadmilling and massage to help his back out and strengthen his legs, and he's really improving a lot! Jackson gets along with new people very well as long as they approach slowly. He's really little! We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
