About Parker

Parker has been adored by his mom since she adopted him from the animal shelter in Hailey when he was about six months old. He has been the most loyal, compassionate, cuddly, and above all goofy companion she could have hoped for. Unfortunately, Parker's mom is very sick and is not expected to recover. Although it breaks her heart, she knows Parker's life would be happiest in another loving home that will give him the active and stable life he has known. Parker is quirky and fun. He is leash-trained for his greenbelt walks loves to hike in the foothills and Idaho mountains. In addition to walks and hikes, Parker loves to ride in the car and sit and watch people, so it's fun to go with him on errands around town. He is house-trained and also knows to use a dog door out to his fenced yard. He already knows 'sit,' 'stay,' 'lie down,' 'leave it,' and 'place,' but Parker is an intelligent and curious guy who would have fun learning even more commands. Parker is wonderful in so many ways, but he is territorial with dogs and other animals in confined spaces, such as his home or the back of a car, or in public places like dog parks where a dispute over a ball could arise. He is fine meeting other dogs if he is out on leash walking. Due to that quirkiness, Parker is looking for a forever home where he gets to be your one-and-only animal. He promises to be more than enough fun and love all by himself! And because he can be a bit of a bull in a china shop with his goofiness, and given his tendency to resource guard in certain situations, Parker is also looking for a home with adults only, or possibly with kids aged 12 and older. This handsome, goofy boy will need an active household who will walk/hike him on a daily basis. Parker is adorable and has so much to offer someone who will love him for who he is.
