Tank has a very special story and therefore deserves a very special home. He is a rare Shadow Leopard Pit Bull. I want him in an adult only home as I don't ever want him used as a baby sitter dog - no dog should be used as a baby sitter. He is super sweet and friendly. His backstory: He was abandoned at the Luther Unit in Navasota Texas, found chained and dying to an old rusty truck on an old rusty chain. No one would take him but me - the county has no shelter (only me as a nonprofit rescue who works with the Sheriff Department). The City wouldn't take him as he was found a few feet over the city line, therefore considered a county street/dumped dog. A kind couple found him, found me, and the rest is history. I had never taken in a pure Pit Bull. I had only heard bad stories. When I drove up to where he was found, I got out of my truck; he had such sadness in his eyes and was very gout. I said 'Tank?' and he stood up proud and wagged his tail at me. He sat down, waited for my approach. I handed him a treat; he didn't know what that was. The finder cut his chain and took it off his neck. Tank laid down. I stood over him, and whispered, 'now I am here to help you, don't bite me'. My face was next to his as I picked him up and placed him in a crate in my truck. He turned around and licked my face. I am teaching him to play. He has never had anyone love him until now and thanks to his finder. He will be neutered and he WILL NOT be used as a bait dog or fighting dog. He has been inside with me and outside now.
