About Hugo

URGENT: Hugo, Beagle mix, 12-13 yrs., 25 lbs., housebroken. Meet Hugo! He's looking for his forever family/home, where he can live out his golden years...well loved and taken care of, as he should be! His foster family say he's a sweetheart! Here's what we know so far. He's around 12 or 13, about 25 lbs and hard of hearing, but is food motivated...he takes his treats very gently. He will sit for a treat if you wait for it. He may not hear you, but he still knows the drill! No accidents in the house and he dances around when it's time to do his business (he also knows how to use a doggy door). He likely has some allergies, but that's easy to treat if needed. He's a beagle mix and so he likes to get his 'sniff' on and check out all the things. He rocked Sloan's Lake on his walks and wasn't reactive...a few barks here and there, but nothing aggressive. Didn't chase geese or squirrels. He had good energy on his walks but zonked out after! Zzzzzz. He loved butt scratches and belly rubs and he liked to give out kisses! He's a happy little guy and follows people around while wagging his tail! He'd love it if his people were around a lot. A few stairs in a home would be doable for him, but not a lot, cuz well, he's an old man pooch! Hugo would do better in a home that has one smaller dog that is submissive. A meow-free home would perhaps be best, though to be fair, he's never been around cats before, so we can't say for sure how he'd adjust over time. We're looking for someone that is home most of the time. His signature moves are endearing old man dog grunts during belly rubs, workin' those big brown eyes and smiling!I Courtesy listing.
