About Elliot

Chihuahua mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Elliot Elliot is about 7 months old and is a small mixed breed weighing in at 22 pounds. %9D%A4 Elliot has been chipped and neutered. Elliot is crate trained but sleeps in a pen where he will also go when he wants or needs alone time. Elliot has never messed in his pen and he sleeps through the night without a sound. Elliot is potty trained and has started to bark to let me know he wants outside. It will be important to let him out frequently until he gets used to your routine, then he will let you know he has to go out. Elliot is very shy and seems to have a trust issue when it comes to people whether they are male or female, big or small it doesn't matter to him. I would suggest a family without little kids as sudden movements does scare him. Elliot's new family will need to have lots of patience, time, love and understanding to gain his trust. Elliot's has been with his foster mom since July 20th and it has taken him this long to trust her enough to allow her to give him belly rubs %9D%A4 and voluntarily jumps on the couch to sit next to her. He so does love a good belly rub! Elliot is also learning that playing with a human is different than playing with another dog and that he has to be nice with no nipping. Elliot has learned to walk on a leash but would prefer a fenced in yard to run around and play in. He likes taking walks more when there is another dog for him to walk with. Elliot does good with other dogs and is fine with not being the dominant dog. His foster mom has two dogs and two cats and they get along great.. He is still courious about the cats and tries to play with them but they aren't to sure about him yet. Elliot is a great eater, his foster mom doesn't know his history with food but does know that he likes to beg. Once he sees that there is nothing to get he will lay down and wait to see if you drop anything. Now that Elliot knows his foster mom better he will sit next to her waiting for the food to drop. Never happens.. if any leftovers he gets them in the kitchen. Elliot has gotten better at car rides, he just sits there with that scared look on his face waiting for it to be over. Occasionally he will take a peek out of the window and seems to like what he sees. As Elliot's foster mom, I would like to say that Elliot is deserving of a family that will take the time and patience to show him that no matter what happened to him in the past that going forward he will know nothing but love. He is an awesome puppy in need of a loving family and he will steal your heart! %9D%A4 Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day.
