Meet Sargent If this story doesn't break your heart, we don't know what will. Sargent's owner is a soldier. He's been deployed overseas and has to leave behind his beautiful dog Sargent. With no one to take Sargent in, Sargent was surrendered on July 12, 2019. We thank his owner for his service. We know heading off to war and leaving your best buddy behind is absolutely heartbreaking. We promised we'd to do whatever we could to find Sargent his forever loving home. Luckily, Sargent is a pretty awesome dog. Sargent is 18 months old. He's thought to be a Boxer/Australian Shepherd mix. Sargent is a handsome boy with a tan and white coat and one brown and one partial blue eye. His ears are expressive and he looks at you as if he knows what you're saying. Sargent is on the bigger side weighing 72 pounds. Sargent is mostly house-broken but could use some consistent training to make him just about perfect. He's smart and knows some commands like sit and shake. Sargent has a lot of energy and will enjoy being part of an active family that's able to keep his body and mind going. He's game for most anything. Sargent has a high prey drive. He especially doesn't like cats and will need to be in a home without them. We think he'll be good with other dogs though, and we'll test him once he settles in. Sargent fears stressful situations and that's exactly what he's in. We hope his stay with us will be short, but that depends on us sharing his story far and wide and finding his home. Please help us pass along his story! Sargent wasn't expecting the turn that his life took and we hope he remains as strong as his owner. So far he's hanging in there, but we know it's not easy on him. If you're looking for a wonderful companion dog to welcome into your family, come meet Sargent. You'll not only be helping Sargent, but also a solder serving our country. Sargent is microchipped and fully vetted. He'll be neutered before going home. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee.
