We feel that they would probably do best without each other but are not opposed to adopting them out together. They both pretty much have the same description and we can barely tell them apart. They're like twins! They are very interested in people and will approach them for treats but it takes a while to gain their trust. They are happy dogs, especially when together. That's why we feel there MUST be another dog in their household or regular access to other dogs. Doggie Daycare or friends/family visits. Don't recommend dog parks until they've bonded with their humans. Once they get to know you, they love it when you chase them! They're quiet now but have been known to speak/bark when they are at ease and comfortable. They do not like the vet but are fine in a bath. They will need regular grooming. They are stunning and beautiful. House training has gone so so. Sometimes they're great and sometimes not. We think just getting on a schedule is what they need. Fenced yard is probably the best for either of them and not left unattended. These girls are striking and someone would steal in a heart beat. Additional Information: All dogs are coming from a high kill shelter or from an owner surrender/life change situation. We generally do NOT have back history on our adoptable dogs. We do not take in aggressive dogs, as we cannot risk adopting them out to the public. We post generic information on our canine profiles because they are all very sweet and we love them. If there are any concerns about fitting into your particular household, we will discuss them with you once we phone interview you. Our adoption application can be found on this site at www.adoptapet.com/bcra Adoption Fee is $400 (non-negotiable) and includes: Spay/neuter, rabies, distemper bordetella vaccines heart worm test, fecal test dewormer and microchip Adoptions are done on Saturdays ONLY between the hours of 10am to 3pm. All household members and current dogs, MUST be present for the meet and greet prior to the adoption. Please contact your veterinarian and give them permission to speak to a BCRA representative. ALL animals in the household must be vaccinated in accordance with Connecticut State Law and MUST be spayed/neutered. We do NOT adopt to out of state residents. A home visit is also required and is non-negotiable. We do our best to ensure that a proper match between dog and family is made every single time. Please keep in mind that it can take up to three months for a dog to properly decompress and relax outside of a shelter environment. Training is usually almost always needed but it is well worth the effort. If the meet and greet with your prospective dog is a success, then we will complete the adoption contract that day. You will receive an adoption packet with all original vet records and helpful tools and tips to have a smooth transition for your pet into your home. We are always here to help you, night and day. You will receive personal contact information in the adoption packet, to reach us anytime. When you adopt from Brass City Rescue Alliance, you become a part of our united family. The Brass City Team Adoption Process When a potential adopter is interested in adopting a dog from BCRA, they must fill out an adoption application. The application will be checked within 48 hours and our Adoption Coordinator will email you (please check your spam box!) We will need you to provide a Vet reference, 2-3 personal references (non-family) and will schedule a home check visit about 14-21 days after adoption. This allows us to not only check on how you're all adjusting to one another, but to also address any concerns that you have. We will never leave you in the lurch and will always be there to guide you with your dog/cat. We love them too! The adoption fee donation will apply. Canine Adoption Fee Donation is $385 per dog. All dogs are spayed/neutered, rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccines, heartworm test, fecal test, dewormed and also microchipped. Feline Adoption Fee Donation is $200.
