About Zoey

Zoey is an older puppy and is full of happy energy! She is curious and loves to explore, but the best part is that she does not chew on everything in sight, like most puppies do! She very quickly learned to 'sit', and no doubt there are many more commands and tricks in her future. Zoey has been very submissive and friendly with her doggie foster brothers. She really wants to chase squirrels on her walks and has yet to master 'walking in a straight line', so she would definitely benefit from leash training. She has been around cats and has behaved really well, so with proper introduction she could live with a kitty sibling. She is house trained, but will need some time to learn her new surroundings, and how to show her family that she needs to go out. She loves to run 'zoomies' around the yard. She is so fast that she sometimes can't keep up with her own legs, and nearly flips over while running! She learned to play fetch very quickly and would make a great playmate for any child, or adult! A fenced yard would be a dream come true for her. She has not been crate trained, and is much happier being free to hang around the house with her foster siblings. She has some separation anxiety, so her foster mom is working hard to teach her to manage this. Zoey is a devoted cuddler and when you sit on the couch to relax, you can be sure that she will be by your side within seconds, giving you the sweetest little kisses. Zoey is such a happy, friendly, bundle of cuteness and will certainly bring many years of smiles and devoted companionship to a very lucky adopter! Zoey makes friends with people very quickly, but she can become scared and overwhelmed if she is not allowed to take her time when approached. She will need some patience and understanding when facing strangers, or groups of people and dogs. Zoey is currently 27 lbs (much smaller than she seems in photos!) and is probably full grown now. She has some slight resemblances of a Dachshund and a Terrier, but the rest is truly a mystery! Zoey is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccines and monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $225.
