OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: Due to the Coronavirus we are suspending any out of state adopti ons until further notice. *We are asking that only people familiar with her breed and have a vet reference apply.* We started Fiona with working on her leash manner and teaching her to manage her excitement during play. She will mostly ignore distractions on walks but will sometimes sidetrack, which will require minor redirection. Fiona is extremely intuitive to her handler and it doesn't take a lot for her to catch on to do what she's asked. Fiona is an excitable dog, lives life to the fullest. She loves to play with people and other dogs. She knows to slow down when directed to as long as she's exercised regularly. Fiona is mellow to medium energy. Daily short walks ((30 min) should be sufficient if she has a doggie friend to keep her active the rest of the time. Dogs who are playful and social are the ideal playmate for Fiona. It's recommended that she's placed with dogs her size or bigger because of her play style can be a bit too rough for smaller, toy breed dogs. Having an appropriate playmate is crucial to keep Fiona manageable. She tends to play rougher with humans if she doesn't get her play time with other dogs. Fiona is a tad possessive with her food. She snaps to correct when other dogs check her bowls, but it's the human job to prevent bowl checks during feed. 'Chicken feed' is okay, as long as there's no bowl for her to claim. Overall, Fiona is a fantastic ambassador for the breed. She takes body handling well and loves everyone she meets. She's friendly and affectionate with other dogs and she is easily redirected if friendship isn't mutual. Fiona is low maintenance in terms of daily exercise and enrichment needs. She's happy on your couch but can more than handle hikes in the woods. Fiona Fathead is a female Pit Bull mix that is approx.. 3yo who weighs 63 lbs. Her ideal home should not have cats (she is a little too curious of the kitties). PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue.
