About Max

Max lived his 3-4 years of life at the end of a short leash attached to a tree. When the finder saw the situation and how epically sad it was she sprung into action to help. She convinced the owner to allow her to take Max. Max has been with her a couple months now and he has come such a LONG way. Upon his initial visit to the vet it was found that he was HW positive. He has since been treated for Heartworm and has recovered from the treatment. We will have him retested at the vet when he is neutered but likely it will take a bit longer for him to test negative. Until he tests negative we suggest not a lot of strenuous activity. Also Heartworm is ��s�NOT��s� contagious. While he still needs to gain trust in people he has done exceptionally well in that area. He is friendly and social and calm! His foster absolutely adores him however she cannot keep him due to free roaming livestock returning to the ranch Memorial Day weekend, it's just too much of a risk even through so far he's done ok. They don't own the cattle and it's not worth risking! This boy is looking for a loving and patient home to continue to help him grow to reach his full potential as the amazing couch dweller and avid Nextflix watcher he could be.
