Say! Do you like green eggs and Hammy? Would you adopt me in a boat? Would you adopt me with a goat? Will you love me in the rain, in the dark, on a train, in a car, and in a tree? I am so very good, you see. Please adopt me, I am Hammy! I am a 12-year-old Schnauzer mix looking for a warm place to snuggle and snooze. I am great with kids, people, and dogs and show no signs of aggression over anything. Also, I am housebroken, leash-trained, and I'm even a skilled backseat driver in the car! Due to the conditions I was living in and my age, I am down to three teeth (the better to smile with), I am hard of hearing (the better to snooze with), and I have a bit of hair loss due to a thyroid issue (I'm on cheap meds, no worries). While I'm not very playful, I make a great companion and an even better lap dog. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
