About Piper

Sweet old lady Piper was found as a stray in horrible condition. She was the most emaciated dog that has ever come into PPR and suffers from arthritis. It took a long time, but she went from 6.6 pounds to 8.1 pounds over the last few months. She was recently spayed and her uterus was full of endometriosis and large painful cysts. She also had a dental and lost most of her teeth. Since Piper's surgery she is like a whole new gal! Her nickname is Grandma Turbo because she shuffles all over the fenced in yard, exploring, and taking in all the smells. Piper is looking for her retirement home as she is about 14 years old. Her overall health is good, and NSAIDS help keep her comfortable. Piper hears pretty well, but her eyes are not the best. Ulcers were left untreated for a long time and left scars. Nothing slows this girl down! When she isn't exploring the yard, she snuggles up tight for bedtime. We are looking for a safe home for Piper where she will not have access to steps or be left alone too long. She will require a securely fenced yard and no young children in the home.
