About Ozark

Corgi / Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Ozark/Oz/Ozzie, this little guy answers to them all. He might as well answer to Happy because he is always so happy. You wouldn't think he would be this joyful since he came to us with a broken hip and leg, but he is 100% joy. Only about 1.5 years old, and hovering around 11 pounds, Ozark may eventually have a hitch in his gitalong, but that's a long ways off. You would never know from the way he gets around, dances, and plays that he ever had such an injury. Ozark loves to play especially with other dogs. He likes kids but since he already had an injury that kids may not be careful about we are hoping for a family for him where any children he will be around are ten years or older so they can comprehend the need to watch out for him. Ozark is crate trained, house trained and learning to be great on a leash (he loves life and learning about everything so ... squirrel! You get the idea). He actually likes cats but may enjoy chasing one that runs from him so slower introductions are necessary. If you are looking for a furry reminder to enjoy every minute of your life no matter what challenges you face, then you need this little guy in your life. To start the process to meet him please read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
