Meet DiscoverMe Dog 'SAUL' | URGENT FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED - RETURNS TO SHELTER ON 7/20 | EMAIL: [email protected] --- Saul is part of our DiscoverMe Project 2-week temp fostering program in partnership with the OC Shelter. He will return to the shelter around July 20 unless an adopter or foster is found.* SAUL the blond chihuahua was having a really hard time finding confidence and comfort after landing in the shelter in May. He's a shy guy who thrives on routine and continuity, and having strangers peering at him through his kennel all day was more than he was ready for. We've had Saul for a week and a half and he's really coming out of his shell. His foster dad has nothing but wonderful things to say! He's been a well mannered house companion and fine with handling, leashing, being picked up, etc. (Foster dad didn't rush or pressure Saul to be intimate before he was ready.) Saul isn't high energy even though he's just a pup of 2 years and 16 lbs, and he's not people reactive nor dog reactive. He wants to hang out with his person and follow them around sometimes, but he's also fine entertaining himself or chilling out in his crate when unsupervised. He's not clingy but also isn't reclusive. He's been crating well and hasn't had any accidents or mischief. He's a regular 'walk/eat/sleep' kind of dog - honestly sounds just about perfect! Little Saul is looking for a quiet adult home with low foot traffic. Other confident dogs would be great - his temp foster dog siblings have boosted his confidence. He'd be fine in a small space as long as it's peaceful, and he doesn't need a yard although we know he wouldn't mind. Saul's an introvert seeking other like minded homebodies who are ready for some Netflix and chill with a pal. Does he sound like a great match for your family? He's available for the low adoption fee of $100 which includes neuter, microchip, vaccinations and all the love for YOU. Can't make a lifetime commitment but want to help Saul so he doesn't have to return to the shelter? We'd be happy to make this sweet boy an official part of our rescue with a foster family in SoCal who will care for him until we find his perfect match. The rescue provides everything needed to care for our pups.
