About Dixie

Cairn / Rat Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Dixie came into rescue when she was basically dumped after living outside for her entire life, and had just had a litter of puppies That was over a month ago, and now they are all ready to find their new homes. Dixie is a young, probably around 2-3 years old, and is a tiny girl weighing around 8 or so pounds. She is full grown. As we are never sure about breed, all we can say is she will remain a small dog. We are looking for a calm and quiet home, this girl is a bit fearful of new things. She will do best with a family/person who will be patient and kind with her as she comes out of her shell when she comes to your home. Once she gets to know you, she will be a happy, loving, jolly little girl. She is crate trained, and her foster is working on potty training and that is going well. She gets along well with other dogs, both large and small. She has really blossomed in her foster home, so we know she will with you as well given the right environment. If you are interested in giving Dixie her forever home, let us know. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. We are never sure about breed because we do not do DNA (we make our best guess), so if that is important to you, this dog may not be the right choice for you. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a dog. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You may need to come back to us to complete shots, spay or neuter, hw test. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative. You will receive a free bag of premium puppy food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market if you live in one of the designated zip codes . You will also receive a free complimentary physical exam with a vet. Training is MANDATORY and will be scheduled at a later date and place.
