About Titan

Titan was our daughter & son-in-law's 3-year-old chihuahua that they purchased from a 'breeder' in Florida at 6 weeks old. He was also the runt of the litter. He is one of the most playful and lovable little boys, but since my son-in-law went into the Army last summer he has been very confused, anxious and aggressive. He withdrew from my daughter and 'adopted' myself and my husband, and became very possessive of us, and became more and more aggressive towards our daughter. When she became pregnant he wanted nothing to do with her, so my husband and I kept him here in NY when our son-in-law was stationed in Tennessee, hoping that we would be able to train him and give him back after their baby was born. Since December 2018 Titan has become more aggressive towards everyone but me, and I have to muzzle him to cuddle with him or even put his harness on to walk him. Unfortunately we don't have the resources to have him evaluated and treated the way he needs to be. His Vet believes he needs neurological evaluation and medication, and behavior modification. He has bitten all of our household members, and every time he does he gets very upset and hides and has tears in his eyes (nobody can tell me dogs don't cry, because I see it happen with Titan) The vet has suggested euthanasia, and there is NO WAY we can do that to this beautiful little boy!!! He truly has so much love, but he needs someone who understands his breed and can help him understand that he will not be abandoned and he has no reason to be afraid. We can't re-home him because he has bitten, and we DO NOT want someone to abuse him because they don't understand him, but we just don't have the ability to give him what he needs. Please help us save the beautiful boy!!!!
