About Ashley

Meet Ashley! This little girl has gotten the short end of the stick but that did not stop her from still being a sweetheart! Ashley is an 8 year old Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle) who has a soft curly coat that is cream colored with a little butterscotch thrown in and is non-shedding and hypoallergenic. Since Ashley was a puppy she has been with the same owner, a senior lady who cooked for her and walked her every day. When she had to move in with her Grandson she was forced to give up her companion of 8 years because Ashley is afraid of very small children and there was a one year old in the home. When she first came into rescue she was shaking like a leaf and hid for about 36 hours. Then suddenly she warmed up and has been following her foster Mom around everywhere. She will tell you when she needs to go to the bathroom and when she wants to eat and go for a walk. She is a total lap dog and after a couple of days will attach herself to her new human. She is very very dog friendly. As well as cat friendly. She is in rescue in a private home with 3 German Shepherds as well as 3 small dogs and several cats. She is tentative with new people at first but that does go away rather quickly. She LOVES walks and chicken and is completely housebroken. Her adoption fee includes her spay (she was never spayed the entire 8 years), a dental cleaning, current vaccinations, microchip, collar and leash. Her adoption fee is $300. As we prescreen via email ONLY please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. Some notes to consider before applying for Ashley: 1. Ashley is part poodle and maltese and will require ongoing groomings every 6 weeks.. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
