About Sophie

LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY! Meet pretty Sophie! She is a 4-5 month old, 10.2 pound Chihuahua mix. Sophie is a friendly, playful little girl who was owner surrendered to us. She is a typical puppy, which means she is playful with lots of energy! When she's done playing and wants a nap, Sophie is a little snuggle bug. She was recently adopted and returned because she was a little possessive of her adoptive mom and did not appreciate the little boy in the home wanting to get in 'her' space when she was sitting on her mom's lap. Although that behavior is something that can be worked with, we think a home without small children would be best. Her foster mom says Sophie doesn't like to be alone and we think a home with another dog would be good for her. She loves chewing on her toys. She likes stuffed animals dog toys and rubber Kong type toys. She is still a pup and is teething She needs chew toys to redirect her behavior so she doesn't chew where she shouldn't! Sophie likes to ride in the little puppy pouch bag, which is really just another way she can be close to her person! She follows her foster mom everywhere around the house. At night, she currently sleeps in a large crate with her foster sister through the night and gets up in the morning to go straight out to do her business. She knows how to use the pet door so will use one if there is one available but she is still a puppy and still needs some work on her potty training. She's a smart girl and with some time and patience, a good routine and positive reinforcement, she will get it down in no time. Sophie is up to date on her yearly shots, has been to the vet for a wellness check and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay and rabies are included in her adoption fee as long as they are done at our vet. Sophie is a sweet little girl who is looking forward to meeting her new family soon!
