Hi, we have an appoximately 4 year old Cane Corso, intact, that we rescued from Char Meck Shelter 3 weeks ago. He was found wandering and emaciated (87 lbs). We have been calling him Fletch. He is heartworm positive. We took him to our vet, who gave us feeding instructions, and prescribed him Doxycycline, Prednisone, and Heart Guard prevention. The shelter was overflowing and he had been there 10 days. He is a sweetheart and it is clear that he was worked with, trained and well socialized. He has been around a lot of people since being here and has shown zero signs of aggression with people. He does great in his crate and just wants to love and be loved. He is tolerating 3x daily feedings of high pro high fat diet. We have been trying to acclimate him to our house and slowly put weight on him...now approx 95 pounds...and prepare him for heartworm treatment. Unfortunately, he is not a good fit for us, because of my health problems and his and our cats' inability to coexist. We have kept them separated as much as possible, but it isn't fair to him or the cats. We truly hate having to rehome him and I wanted to reach out to your rescue first, because we definitely want him to go to the right people. Can you help out? We will need to relocate him asap. Thanks.... John & Jessica
