Countess aka 'Tess' - Blue Point Ragdoll - SPECIAL NEEDS NOW AVAILABLE APPLICATION & VET REFERENCES REQUIRED ---------- Lap Cat! Loving and affectionate! Soft and fluffy! 8 yrs old, in excellent health, spayed & microchipped Never misses the box, ever! ----------- Needs quiet home with no other animals & no children Needs fenced in yard and/or screened patio Has vision deficit causing fearfulness ---------------------- Tess is an 8-yr old spayed female Blue Point with medium-to-long hair that never mats. She loves being brushed! We have medical records for her from Pinellas County Animal Services. She has been fully vaccinated, but at this time we have discontinued giving shots and have Titer performed to fulfill county requirements. She had her teeth professionally cleaned at the vet, has excellent health and flawless litter box habits. She has a microchip. --------------------------- Tess has some special needs. She cannot share a home with other cats or dogs. She also spent a large amount of her life as an outside cat, and is miserable and angry unless she is allowed a screened-in patio or secure/gated garden with protective fencing. ------------------------ She does not have perfect eyesight, due to a genetic quirk known as Nystagmus (the eyes focus and unfocus rhythmically -almost imperceptible to us but it makes her vision less reliable). She has only a very mild case. There is no treatment or cure for this condition, but it is not life-threatening. These special needs tend to make her fearful and therefore caring for Tess is not a casual affair. ---------------------- She has no understanding of aggression and she will lovingly walk up to most people to greet them, but when they reach to pet her, she sometimes gets confused and thinks they will try to hurt her. Petting her must be a slow hand movement. Slow gentle hands are rewarded with the most loving and affectionate soft fluffy love and strong purring and rubbing, and rolling over, and head-butting. Fast hands, rough or aggressive petting, or worst of all grabbing, will end with scratches or bites. --------------------- It will take a very specific type of home to keep her happy! No young children and no other pets. She would be very happy to curl up in the lap of a kind hearted and patient human who understands that she doesn't see very well and may fear being grabbed. ------------ In return for having a gentle and loving human who understands her special needs, Tess will be affectionate and sweet, playful and loyal, with perfect cleanliness and excellent health. If you want just one cat and you want her to be a beautiful sweet and fluffy lap cat, and you have the kind of quiet home that will accommodate her special needs, please contact us for an application.
