About McKenna

At just 9 lbs., 18-month-old McKenna is perfectly adorable with her short little legs and long body, typical of a Type B, or Teddy, Rat Terrier. This personality-packed pup likes to play hard and sleep harder. She'll entertain herself by tossing stuffed toys or engage her foster mom in a game of tug-of-war. When she's all tuckered out, she likes to be picked up and cuddled and will lean into you for belly rubs as her eyes close in contentment. McKenna gets along well with other dogs and would be fine with having another canine sibling of similar size, but she really adores human attention and would be most content being spoiled as an only dog. (Since she considers cats as objects to be barked at and chased, a feline-free home would be best.) One thing McKenna must have is a fenced yard because she completely freezes and shakes on a leash, even though her foster mom has been working with her on leash walking. And make sure that fence is escape proof because she's an expert on finding ways out of fencing. She's completely trustworthy loose in the house, however, and is crate-trained as well as house-trained. McKenna's hoping her new family will be home most of the time so that she can show them what a great best friend she can be!
