About Hemingway

Adoption Fee: $50
Domestic Cat / Russian Blue
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Local adoptions only--within a 50 mile radius of Quail Valley/Menifee, southwest Riverside County. Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area due to traffic/drive time. Hemingway was rescued as a starving stray. He was seen in the neighborhood for several months and no owner could be found. He is probably another cat who was abandoned when his owners moved away and left him behind. His estimated date of birth is 7/3/16. He is a large boy, tall and solid, weighing 14.5 pounds. He appears to be a Russian Blue Mix with a short, dense blue coat with white on paws, chest and face. He is very handsome and healthy with pretty green eyes. Hemingway is recovered from his ordeal of being homeless and has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Hemingway is very loving and loves attention and petting once he gets to know and trust you and will jump on your lap for petting and sleep on the bed with you. He is mellow and easy-going. He gets along well with other cats and loves dogs! Hemingway is the sweetest cat! He is looking for a good permanent indoor home with someone who wants to give a rescued animal a loving home. Most cats/kittens are scared going to a new home with new people, but they all blossom in their own home. Living in a rescue environment is not the same as living in their own home where they receive the individual attention they need and deserve. They need someone to spend time with them, give them one-on-one attention and play with them every day. Therefore, we are looking for adopters who want to give a rescued animal a chance at their own home and will be patient and understanding in giving the cat time to settle in, get comfortable in their new environment and learn to trust you. We never know how long it will take for them to become comfortable in their new home because all cats are different, some cats walk in and make themselves right at home, sometimes it takes 2-3 days and sometimes weeks. We are looking for loving indoor homes for all of our cats and kittens. $50 adoption fee, cash only, which is to help reimburse for a portion of expenses of cat rescue and rehabilitation. Adoption contract required. Location: Quail Valley/Menifee, Southwest Riverside County. Local adoptions only; within 50 miles because we deliver animal to its new home. (Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area because of traffic difficult time-consuming drive) We are looking for indoor homes for our cats and adopters who are willing and able to care for this pet for its lifetime (15+ years). If interested, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, where you live, etc. and what type of cat you are looking for--indoor, outdoor, or? Thank you. Our adoption process involves meeting by appointment. We have the best interest of the animal in mind and our goal is to find a good, permanent home for each of our rescued animals. Therefore, we have the right to decline an application if we feel it is not a good match/fit or suitable home. After meeting the animal, if you want to adopt the animal and we both feel it is a good match, an application and adoption contract are completed. A convenient day/time is arranged for us to deliver the animal to its new home to do a home check (to make sure the home is safe and secure). We will collect the adoption fee (cash only) when we deliver the animal to its new home. All our adoptions are on a trial basis because our goal is to have a successful adoption where the animal has a good permanent home for its lifetime and never ends up in a bad situation again. We ask that you give the animal a chance to adjust and settle in his new home and environment. Going to a new home with new people and a new environment is traumatic and stressful. It will take time for the animal to become comfortable around you and his/her new home. This should be a bonding period where you get to know the animal and connect with it, spend time with it and take things slow. He/she will need to get to know and trust you and learn the rules of the house and what is expected of him/her. This takes time, sometimes 2-3 weeks or more. We hold the adoption fee for one month and if the adoption is not working out, we ask that you contact us and return the animal and we will refund your adoption fee.
