FOSTERS DESCRIBE BAMBI: We have had Bambi for four months and would like to share our experience of her: Bambi is a smart girl and can learn fast with the right training.�%A0 She loves to greet all people and all dogs.�%A0 She greets everyone she meets on a walk.�%A0 She can play with big and small dogs and is quite impressive at the dog park. Bambi has lots of puppy energy and can walk for 2-4 miles and run hard at the dog park.�%A0 She can also stay home all day and hang around. We live on a golf course and she greets the players and never barks.�%A0 She doesn't bark in the house or on walks.�%A0 It's very interesting.�%A0 She will bark if the doorbell rings or if another dog walks by the house but other than that, you really don't hear from her. Bambi loves her chewy toys, treats and balls.�%A0 She loves to run and fetch her ball and play.�%A0�%A0 She has a hilarious howl when you squeeze her squeaky ball.�%A0 Bambi is much like a cat in that she is very independent and is not looking for a lot of human contact.�%A0 She can entertain herself for hours at a time and often prefers to hang by herself but she will stay in the same room with you.�%A0 We set up her doggie bed in another room and she often goes there during the day to nap and at night. When she first arrived, she was quite anxious and paced for hours at a time.�%A0 She does have a minor neurological tic but it doesn't appear to have much of an effect on her and we don't really notice it much. �%A0�%A0After a couple of months, she is definitely calmer and occasionally does seek to lay down next to you on the couch but she prefers not to be petted unless it is first thing in the morning. Potty training has been a challenge.�%A0 It took us a week or so to realize that she was trained to go on a pee pad.�%A0 Getting her trained to go outside has been hit and miss.�%A0 Bambi responds best to positive behavior training vs. corrective/punishment.�%A0 We do not have the time that it will take to get her trained completely so we continue to use a pee pad and get her outside when we can. Bambi becomes quite stressed when riding in a car. �%A0�%A0 She is getting better but needs someone to hold her or be crated.�%A0 Bambi has great qualities and would be good for someone who has the time and energy to work with her.�%A0 She also does not need a lot of attention.�%A0 However, if you are looking for a dog to cuddle with it remains to be seen if Bambi would be right for you.�%A0 Only time will tell if she will get there. She weighs in at�%A010 lbs and is approx 1 yrs�%A0old. If you feel you will have time to give Bambi a wonderful home, please get an application in. She is current on her spay, immunization shots, Rabies shot, Bordetella and micro-chipped. Bambi's�%A0adoption fee is set at $230.00 If you are interested in Bambi, PLEASE complete an application.
