About Rupert

Adoption Fee: $300
Border Collie mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Rupert! 9 months old, probably McNab and Border Collie. His paws are big, and his face is broad, like a McNab, and he's slim and lanky, like a young border collie. And a smooth Collie coat. The streets of Bakersfield are no place for a solar panel like Rupert! Luckily he was found by a local guy, Bryan, who picks up every stray he can, he and Alexandra get them to the right place. They found CCHDR and brought him over. He integrated right in, zero problems. And went straight for the food! Unlimited! He is a growing boy, lanky! Rupert's finders would have loved to keep him, he's a really good boy, but their fence is low and they lived by a busy street, they did the right thing. Rupert did very well with their 2 Chihuahuas though. So Rupert (and he knows his name!) is not exactly chilling (it's 100 degrees outside!), but relaxing in the shade of large yard with 8 other herders, and doing just fine. He absolutely loves to play, and the 2 youngsters here, Buddy and Rupert, went at it for an hour. Then I finally got some photos of him lying down or standing still! He's a young McNab! He is high energy. He'll need an active owner to commit! First pack hike, no thought of a leash, he is so attached to his people (me for now), he blasted off like he quite possibly never has had a chance to. Barking at nothing, until he wore himself out! He was SO happy to run! Hysterical! Then he settled and fell in line the rest of the walk. He was unsure of water, and actually got stuck in the trees, not wanting to cross back over alone. I had to get my gear off and go get him. I thought he'd figure it out, but Vicky was having a heart attack so in I went to save him. While she secretly photographed. Thanks a lot Vicky! Rupert is a lucky pup, who is very well balanced with people and other dogs. Interested in a great dog?
