About Cali

Cali is a 12 year old Dobie Kelpie mix. She is almost blind but can get around well. She has been being fostered with a 1 year old Australian shepherd and they play very well together. She has also shared a house with 3 cats and she seems to do just fine with them apart from occasionally wanting to chase them. She can use a dog door to go to the bathroom outside on her own and can hold it inside for a short time if she does not have immediate access to outside. She has gotten along with many other breeds when she has gone to the dog park and enjoys running around outside. She may be 12 but she is very strong and is still learning about polite leash behavior as she was not walked very often in the past. She is a runner and I would not recommend letting her off leash in an unfenced area. She loves car rides and will run directly to the car if she sees it. She would be a good dog to alert of intruders as she is vocal when someone comes to the door or she hears someone outside. She has no major health issues apart from her vision and she likes to chew on her paws. She recently had all her vaccinations updated and is ready for a loving home to live out her life. She is very sweet and once she gets to know you will follow you everywhere. She may be a bit timid at first and try to find a spot she feels safe since she was not taken out much previously but she will warm up and eventually make herself at home. She does get scared of loud noises which might make her hide for a bit but she will do that less as she gets more comfortable in the home.
