Hello, I have a 10yr old Dachshund that I am looking for a home for. She belonged to my grandparents, however my grandfather passed last year and my grandmother passed 07/07/19. My parents have her but they rescue cats and have 7 already plus 2 dogs. I have 2 elderly rescued Dachshunds with medical issues and I cannot afford to keep her nor will my Dachshunds accept her. We do not know what else to do and do not want to 'give' her away and certainly not take her to animal control. She would do so well with an older, established home, no kids as she has never been around children.She has been around many cats and other dogs, but she was on her own with my grandparents and this is the preferred situation as she can be territorial. She is fixed and has no medical issues. She is overweight and my parents have her on a diet with a regular feeding schedule which she did not have before with my grandparents.
