The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be house and leash trained. Most have never lived in house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. Hi! My name is Tuffy and I am a super sweet little Chihuahua/Basenji boy who is 9 years old and I weigh 10 pounds. When I was about 2 years old, I found myself in a very bad place and was to be PTS. That did not sound good. Fortunately, B.R.A.S. rescued me and a few months later, I thought I had found my furever home. I don't like children or big dogs. Well, 2 years later, they moved next door to a family with 3 small children who played in the front yard next to me all day and I barked at them. So, back to B.R.A.S. I went. A few months later, I went again to what I hoped was my furever home. It was not to be. My new family's circumstances changed, and they could no longer keep me. Again, back to B.R.A.S. A year later, I went to where I was sure was me furever home! I was there over 3 years and my parents got very sick and couldn't keep me so I am now 9 years old and back at B.R.A.S. The good news is, I never found myself back in a bad place again and B.R.A.S. always welcomed me back and I get to sleep with my foster mom and dad again!
