About Amelia

Amelia is 5-6 year old girl who had a rough life before coming to SWESR. She was a stray-emaciated and with heartworms. Through the double miracles of love and veterinary medicine Amelia is now ready for a home where an experienced dog person can provide leadership and patience. Amelia is a typical Setter who hunts critters while outside but settles in quietly when inside. She is a velcro dog and will follow her person around the house. Amelia is house trained, and her crate is her favorite place when it's bedtime. She has found her Setter voice and can be vocal if she wants to be petted and is ignored. Amelia has bonded with her foster mom, but sometimes feels intimidated by men and will occasionally bark at them. A quiet female-only home will be the best for Amelia. She is not good with cats or children. Since Amelia is afraid of loud noises she is not a candidate for a flying transport. Amelia is ready for a forever home where she could run after critters in a safely-fenced yard, but then cuddle up with her favorite person.
