About Gia

Meet Gia! Isn't she stunning? This beautiful girl is a 3 year old female Shih Tzu/Terrier mix who is about 15lbs. Gia came to us with her two puppies when her owner contacted our rescue to let us know he was going to dump these dogs at the shelter if we didn't take them. He informed us he was gone most of the day everyday so he kept them in a garage the majority of their life. Well, we couldn't let them go through any more suffering and took all three into our rescue. These poor pups have been through so much that whoever adopts them or Gia will definitely need to be a patient and loving home. They need time to adjust and acclimate. They will need basic training to help them be the best they can be. Gia is an absolute love! She is great with people of all ages. She's perfect with children but can be a little picky in her doggy friends, but with correction she learns to love and trust all dogs. We do notice that she prefers male dogs her size or smaller. She is a 'bark talker' so she needs correction in that area. We want a home for her where her owners are not gone long hours. She would also love a yard to sunbathe and run around in. Gia is absolutely stunning in person. She does take time to warm up to you when she meets you but you must realize where she came from and the situation she was in, so it's only understandable that she is a bit guarded,but once she warms up to you, she will stick to you like glue and love you forever! Gia is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. WE ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS WE REQUIRE AN IN PERSON HOME CHECK AND A 1-2 WEEK TRIAL PERIOD.
