About Nala

Schnauzer / Poodle
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Nala is a dignified older girl that deserves far better then being turned into a high kill shelter for euthanasia. Nala is a very loving, low maintenance.. and SO sweet girl who just wants to snuggle and be a best friend to an individual or family that desires this pure love in their lives. Nala, at just about 10 years old and 19 lbs would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that sweet lap dog and very best friend . She will be by your side to hug and love on...these are always the most important things to Nala! She's a smaller pup and so portable and well-behaved that she can be a full-time best friend...accompanying her guardians everywhere a sweet and very lovable dog is welcome. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with very sweet and engaging temperaments (and as dignified as Nala) end up in precarious situations. Nala was a last-minute save for us...she would have been euthanized in a dismal New Mexico shelter if kind rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This sweetheart (described by the NM vet as completely healthy) is just so awesome with many happy and healthy years ahead l(smaller breeds, with great nutrition and lots of love can live to very ripe old ages) ...a life in which she can bring so much joy to a special family. Nala may be a bit shy initially as rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, she will absolutely shine. We envision Nala with either retirees (she would be overjoyed with time spent and being at the center of a loving family) or a younger family who works at home or would be able to take Nala along to a dog-friendly workplace. A like-sized canine or feline friend would be great as well. Nala would enjoy the companionship and cuddle times with a furry best friend. For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside along beautiful Colorado paths ...Nala would love nothing more than to share the experience. Her New Mexico foster loves daily neighborhood walks and Nala comes along. She is always up for these daily outings..fascinated by the activity around her. She breathes in the air...so happy to be free of the dismal shelter environment. And then, maybe her favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed close beside her beloved family members. As a Schnauzer/Poodle mix (Schnoodle), Nala is a non-shedding dog that is considered a good choice for those who have allergy concerns. As is evident in her photos, Nala coat will require some care and grooming. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement with premium food is important for coat care and longevity) to keep her hair cottony- soft, very healthy and matt-free. We've requested that Nala be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too many dogs and not enough vets in this impoverished area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for her spay and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Nala will be arriving on transport in Denver on either Tuesday 7/16 or Wednesday 7/17/19 (information will be updated when confirmed). Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and very loving best friend, please fill out our application and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Nala please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
