A volunteer who spent time with her wrote the following. 'We have no idea why Maya has gotten so little attention. She is a petite brown beauty who loves to love on her humans and also is happy and social with other dogs in playgroup. She really is the full package! Maya is a quiet and calm girl; she looks at anyone passing with such soulful & sad eyes. She is shy yet yearns for a person's attention. After some walking she came up for scratches and likes chest rubs. Maya had an opportunity to exit the shelter for a day and got a super report, confirming what we already know- that she's calm, likely potty trained and has a gentle soul. Simply, we love her! Poor sweet Maya finds herself at the shelter and doesn't know why. She is so nervous but allowed us to pet her. She is curious about her surroundings yet cautious but in time will warm up and learn to trust. She is so beautiful with her crystal clear bright hazel eyes that glistened in the sun today as we enjoyed a lovely warm day together!!'
