About Django

Adoption Fee: $80.00
Rhodesian Ridgeback / Black Mouth Cur
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Django has had a rough journey to end up back at our rescue but thanks to an amazing team of dedicated staff members, volunteers and advocates he has a bright future ahead of him! He was originally adopted as a puppy from AZSDR and was surrendered to a kill shelter in Colorado though he was intaked almost two weeks prior. Our staff did not get a call from the facility until Django had less than two days to get out or be euthanized because he was deemed as 'people aggressive'. We are so grateful that those in rescue are so dedicated to helping every animal no matter how far the distance! An advocate in CO, Renee, more than willingly evaluated Django and learned the exact opposite of how he had been labeled! Another advocate, Angela, then coordinated with No Kill Colorado to help find a transporter, Tina, to meet our transporter to get him back here and safe! Our transporter was Tammyra, whom is one of our board members who is willing to help any where she can and goes above and beyond for our animals! Django proved he is going to be a loyal canine companion to a lucky family. He is great in the car and walks very well on a leash and harness with very little pulling. Django seems to be house broken, he will bark when he needs to go out, and knows how to use a doggy door. He LOVES food and will play fetch whenever he gets the chance! Django has done amazing with men and women. In his previous home they did say he did well around kids as long as they were comfortable with large dogs. We recommend if there are kids in the home that they have been around large dogs. Django is working on his manners and knows sit but loves to give hugs and kisses! He is a large boy weighing 64.6 pounds and may have a little weight to fill out once his food intake catches up with his metabolism and exercise! Django would do best in a home where his people are home more often than not due to his separation anxiety. He needs a home with a securely fenced backyard for him to be able to run and go long to play fetch! Django's paperwork says he is a boxer/ lab mix but we seem to think is is more of a possible ridgeback/ black mouth cur mix! No matter his actual breed, Django is a happy boy ready to run into his forever home and have his own spot on the bed right next to his people. No apartments or rentals with breed or weight restrictions. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption fee is $80 and includes a free vet visit and 30 days of free pet insurance. To meet him, come to our location at 1102 W. Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tues-Sunday 11am to 6pm. On weekends, call for location as some of our dogs attend off site adoption events, 602-944-2440
