I am in URGENT need of help from any chihuahua lovers. Picked up this sweet but sick chihuahua off the street, and I didn't want to turn him over to the pound. He's older but his bloodwork came back clear except that he's heartworm positive and needs pain pills. It's the heartworm that I'm not financially prepared to treat. He's also not a good fit in my home, though I've been rescuing for my entire life (and I have doggy doors that he's too small to fit over the lip of!). The vet talked me out of euthanizing him because she said he could have a happy life with heartworm treatment. I picked him up off the street shivering and hungry, but I don't want to surrender him where he'll live out his days in a cage or suffer a cruel death. I'm trying to find anyone who will take him and treat him. If he's going to die, I want someone to hold him; he deserves love like all dogs!
