About Liam

Bichon Frise / Poodle
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

The very first thing that Liam the Bichon Frise/Poodle mix wants to make clear is that he's a love. In these photos (sorry for the poor quality, we've requested others and will update) you're not aware of the pure white of his gorgeous non-shedding coat (this breed mix is considered to one of the most hypoallergenic available today) - with a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is an excellent choice for coat care and longevity), Liam's hair will be cottony soft and shining with good health. Everything is new to Liam...his adorable little nose sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then, before you know it, Liam is on your lap or cuddling close to his favorite people. Liam is so happy beside his family because his relationships are so important to him. We have to remember that Liam comes from a tough shelter. As a result of harsh conditions, Liam may be initially a bit shy. But just give him a second...once he's assured that all is well, he'll snuggle close and show his engaging ways and very sweet temperament. This 10 months old, 8 lb Bichon/Poodle truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. Liam is such a great age and size...old enough to be past puppyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many active, healthy years ahead. He's also the perfect weight to take along on every adventure. A hike, a neighborhood walk, shopping on Pearl Street or backyard fun will speak to the fun and social nature of this sweet guy. We can envision Liam with an active retired couple or individual... or a younger family who desire an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. Liam would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people and canine friends. Being a Bichon/Poodle mix, Liam enjoys physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He's such a great guy and would be thrilled to come along everywhere an awesome little dog is welcome. Liam will learn excellent skills and bonding with his family at positive reinforcement group training class. He'll use his education out in the world and therefore be able to accompany his family everywhere a small and very sweet, well-behaved dog is welcome. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. Liam will be overjoyed to walk along neighborhood paths..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. He can have just a moment of insecurity from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great guy past these feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned again. Liam's basic nature is to be very joyful and positive.. and in just a moment, his silly and fun-loving personality takes over. We've requested that Liam be neutered/microchipped prior to his arrival in Boulder but we're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this impoverished area of Texas. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Liam's neuter and microchip following his transport to Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used. Liam will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday 7/12/19. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet guy with the dark, expressive eyes. If interested in this very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Liam, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
