PLEASE DO NOT USE THE RESCUE ME CONTACT LINK! Thank you. Please visit our website and submit an application prior to emailing for information. www.odbtr.org. We will NOT respond to inquiries unless we have an application on file. I'm sorry, but we don't have time to reply to 'is the dog available'. If the dog is posted, they are available. We do not charge an application fee like many Boston rescues. Ours is free and it helps us use our time more efficiently. Give us the time it takes you to submit an app and we'll give you our full attention. Frankie is an adorable 2-1/2 year old English Bulldog who likes to be in charge. She's housebroken, up to date on shots has had wellness lab work, is microchipped and spayed. Frankie would be best with older, dog savvy kids. She has a tendency to grab onto hands or whatever is handy if she wants attention, so for this reason younger children are not recommended. Frankie is a typical independent bulldog and loves to have all the attention to herself. She'd be fine living as an only dog. She is good with submissive male dogs that are close to her own size. She does not get along with female dogs at all. She is currently fostered with a submissive male; she's very good with him but doesn't really engage in play. She has not been cat tested but it's safe to say given her reaction to small dogs, rabbits and squirrels that she won't be good with cats either. Frankie must have a fenced yard. She will take off after any animal or bird she sees. Frankie loves to go for walks but her leash manners are rough and she needs more leash training. Frankie will only be adopted to people experienced with dogs with a strong prey drive and alpha personality. Frankie came to us with no manners at all. We've worked with her and she has improved, but she still has a lot of room to improve. She will need a person or family who understands that she needs positive reinforcement and continued training. A professional trainer isn't necessary but if not, she needs people who will continue the training we've done and add more as she masters each skill. Frankie still thinks she's a puppy so patience is a must. A strong lap is also a must because Frankie believes wholeheartedly that she is a lap dog!
