About Cooper

Please help Cooper find a good retirement home! This is my parents dog and they unfortunately are in poor health and unable to care for him. He is very sweet and happiest just sleeping and being with people. Don't be fooled by his age though, when he is feeling playful he will run and prance around and loves long walks in the evening. He just had a dental cleaning and has a clean bill of health with recent normal bloodwork and vaccines up to date. He is a Papillon, but I had to give him a haircut and his ear hair is so short right now! His only fault is if he is left alone and unattended, his is not super reliable with potty habits. Right now he is living at my house, and we just take him out often and whenever we are not around, he sleeps in his crate and this has worked well. Right now he is living with one other dog and two cats and does well with them (he is a little scared of one of my cats that keeps hissing at him, he lets her rule the roost). We also have two children, and while he has been good with them, I would not say he would be great with all kids. He is an older dog, and I would not feel comfortable with kids being to rough with him or getting right in his face. His hearing is going, and his depth perception is not great (normal for an older dog). His ideal home would be with an older couple that could just hang out and snuggle all the time!
