About Callie

Callie is a 2 year old (DOB 7/15/17) spayed red merle Aussie in need of a home. She is being given up because she and the female Border Collie in the home have been getting into fights. She weighs about 40 pounds, has a docked tail, is housebroken and crate trained. According to her owner she knows - spin, sit, stay, lay down, bring it, drop it and wait. She has lived with a cat but will chase. She has also been exposed to chickens in a pen and has learned to leave them alone. Callie takes approximately 30 minutes to warm up to strangers and seems to prefer women over men. Once she warms up her owner reports that she is super lovable, cuddly and fun. She can be somewhat dominant with other dogs so will be placed as an only dog or potentially with a submissive male. She is currently living with her owners on the east end of Long Island. A home with recent dog ownership experience, preferably with Aussies or a similar breed is requested. An application with ARPH must be on file to be considered.
